My study of John William Waterhouse's "My Sweet Rose" was not intended to be an exact copy of his delicate painting, but a study of his techniques.

As parents we all think our kids are smart and clever.
Here are some actual quotes right from my kids' mouths as evidence that mine truly are:

"When I do a white shirt, I just draw a shirt shape and leave it white"-Olivia, quoted at age 10
Olivia giving daddy some sound painting advise. My thought, why can't it really be that simple?

"Note to self--pack toys for trip."-Olivia, quoted at age 7
Actually written down on a note prior to a family road trip.

"What is the hell is that?"-Emma quoted at age 3

"Give it a body dance!"-Emma, quoted at age 4
Emma's don't seem to need any explanation. That's the way Emma is.

___

"Can I say bucket?(mommy answers, "yes") Can I say suck it? (mommy answers,"no") Can I say stick it?(mommy answers,"no") Well can I say sticker? (mommy answers,"yes")-Campbell, quoted at age 3
Yes, I guess Campbell had heard some swearing somwhere...can't imagine where.;~) So this was her way of figuring out how far is too far.

"puh-puh-puh- mermaid"-Campbell, quoted at age 3
Trying to get in on the action with her older sister who is learning the sounds letters make at school.
